i am finally beginning to take steps toward that goal and i am in the beginning phase of writing as of today. a big part of it will be centered around the concept(ion) of beauty and why it exists.
so i just thought that i would get some thoughts/opinions/viewpoints about beauty in general.
so pleas share any thoughts about beauty.
what do you see as beautiful?
what significance does beauty have in your life and how does it benefit you personally?
what is the purpose of beauty in general?

I think beauty is what we see as an escape from this fallen earth. When i see something truely beautiful, i need to stop and let it sink in. It provides for us an opportunity to take our eyes off of what is around us and see something that we'll be able to look forward to in eternity.

I am taking a class right now called Beauty and the Christian Life... i want to send you my lecture notes (if you can understand them) but also my syllabus and with my reading list. these are some really good books that talk about the role of aesthetics in the christian life and in christian heritage. It really talks a lot about the theology of aesthetics and beauty... let me know if you are interested.
